Dave Meniketti is the vocalist, songwriter, and lead guitarist for the rock band Y&T. Originally named Yesterday and Today, Y&T are a San Francisco Bay area-based hard rock band formed in 1974. Songs from their self-titled 1976 album were played by San Antonio radio DJ Joe Anthony, who gave it repeated airplay. In 1976, Y&T traveled to San Antonio to play their first Texas show at the old Municipal Auditorium, a concert promoted by San Antonio’s Jack Orbin of Stone City Attractions. According to Meniketti, San Antonio was an important tour stop for the band in their early days and helped to spread their profile through the Southwest United States.
